Maxwell Street Days tomorrow!

Hello Video Angels,
Maxwell Street Days starts tomorrow! We’ll be selling used DVDs and Blu Rays in front of Le C’s Patisserie (411 State Street) from 9am to 6pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 10am to 5pm Sunday. We want to remind everyone that our in-store hours will be 1pm to 5pm during Maxwell Street Days.

Call For Volunteers & Maxwell Street Days Hours

We’re looking for volunteers to help us with setting up and taking down our tent on State Street during Maxwell Street Days, July 17th to 20th. If you’re interested, please contact us and we can fill you in on the details of when we’ll need people and what duties will entail.

We also want to remind everyone that our in-store hours will be 1pm to 5pm during Maxwell Street Days.

Matt Farley at the Bartell!

Hello Video Angels,We’re very pleased to announce we’ll be hosting a double feature screening of Matt Farley’s LOCAL LEGENDS and LOCAL LEGENDS: BLOODBATH with Matt Farley of Motern Media live and in person! 

Matt will also be singing some of his songs in between the movies!
Who is Matt Farley? He’s the most prolific songwriter of the modern era, who has written 26,000 songs and counting, from topics ranging from celebrities, cities and towns, musical criticism, and everyday scenarios. He’s the man who has cracked the code on how to get paid as an independent musician in the digital era. The first film we’ll be screening, LOCAL LEGENDS, details how he started this practice, while its new sequel, LOCAL LEGENDS: BLOODBATH, shows the consequences of fame going to your head. 
The screening will be at the Bartell Community Theater on June 29th at 4pm. Tickets are $25 and you can buy them here!

WFF Starts Tomorrow!

Hello Video Angels,
The Wisconsin Film Festival starts tomorrow! Just a reminder that we’ll have shortened hours some days this week so our staff can attend screenings, which are listed in full at the bottom of this post.

On Friday at 1pm, you can listen to WORT FM for Lewis’ annual appearance on the Mel & Floyd Summer Replacement Show for some recommendations of what to check out at the festival, as well as interviews with director of operations Ben Reiser and filmmakers who will be appearing live at the festival!
